Job Closings Pace

How many jobs reach field complete each month, and how fast the field CM finalizes them. Companion to Forward Starts, which shows what is about to start. Data through Oct 4, 2026.

September field completions were 279, 7% above the 261-a-month pace since March 2026

279 jobs reached field complete in September 2026, against a pace of 261 a month from March to August 2026. That pace is itself a step up from about 139 a month in 2025, driven by added volume, including Ogden going from about 4 a month in 2025 to about 57 a month after the Vinyl Guys acquisition.

October is at 47 with 4 of 31 days gone, on course for about 364 at this rate.

377 jobs finished, waiting on the CM to finalize (stages 10–11; finished = field complete); 38 have waited 90+ days since the last major task (as of Oct 5). 12 of the 377 have no field-complete date, so they cannot be aged.

Field completions have run at about 1.9 times their 2025 pace since March 2026; CM finalizing comes in batches

Jobs per month, last 24 complete months plus October 2026 to date. Field complete leads: the month the last major task finished. For an archived job with no major-task date, or one finalized more than 30 days before its last major task, its CM-finalized date stands in (7 of September's 279). CM finalized is the month the field CM finalized the job, so it trails the last major task.

* October 2026 is partial, through Oct 4; its segment is dashed. "bulk" marks months with a bulk day, meaning 45 or more jobs finalized on one date: May 11 (45); May 19 (49); Jun 5 (108); Jun 8 (60); Jun 26 (49); Sep 15 (106). A bulk day is a CM clearing their closeout list in one sitting, not a jump in field completions.

Orem finishes the most jobs a month since March (113); Ogden (57) and Salt Lake (56) are level; St. George 32

Field complete per month by division, last 12 complete months plus October 2026 to date (the * bar, through Oct 4). Pace = the March to August 2026 average. All four charts share one scale, so bar heights compare across divisions.

Orem: 123 in September, in line with its 113-a-month pace

Ogden: 85 in September, 48% above its 57-a-month pace

Salt Lake: 45 in September, 19% below its 56-a-month pace

St. George: 25 in September, 21% below its 32-a-month pace

Commercial: 27 field complete in the last 12 complete months and 0 so far in October, too few to chart.

Last complete week (Sep 27–Oct 3): 71 field complete, 19% above the 12-week average of 60

Field complete by Sunday-start week, company total. The * bar is the current week, partial (data through Oct 4).

The job list for each week is under Job lists, below.

Jobs are typically finalized 14–21 days after the last major task, except Commercial (43); Orem runs 29 once its bulk clear-outs count

Typical wait, finished to finalized (finished = field complete): jobs whose last major task fell in the last 12 complete months (Oct '25 to Sep '26) and that are already finalized. The first median leaves out the 402 jobs finalized on a bulk day; the second counts them. Slow tail = the 90th percentile, bulk days left out.

37 jobs (2%) were finalized before their last major task (a task completed after finalizing) and are left out of the wait figures.
